Last year, the Foundation was honored to award a number of grants for truly innovative programs and projects within the Whitman Hanson Regional School District.

Among these grants was funding for TI-Smart View graphing calculator emulators at the Whitman Hanson Regional High School. The high school mathematics department, led by grant applicant Leanna Russell, the Mathematics Curriculum Coordinator, was awarded money to purchase the graphing technology.
Teacher Leanna Russell explains: “The TI-SmartView emulator is an easy-to-use, demonstration tool for leading the classroom instruction of math and science concepts. The TI-SmartView emulator complements classroom calculator use by displaying an interactive representation of the calculator, plus offers many unique instructional capabilities. This program enables our math department to provide cutting-edge instruction and allows us to utilize the state-of-the-art Smart design of the new Whitman Hanson Regional High School for the benefit of our students.”
