Baby Think It Over Program

Last year, the Foundation was honored to award a number of grants for truly innovative programs and projects within the Whitman Hanson Regional School District.
Among these grants was the Baby Think It Over Program. High School teachers, led by grant applicant Jean Carson, were awarded money to purchase new infant simulator dolls for the Child Growth and Development classes.
Jean Carson explains “the Baby Think It Over infant simulator is a lifelike, life-size baby doll with realistic computerized responses, which allows teens to experience some of the demands of infant care. We utilize this technology at the high school level to help adolescents appreciate the responsibilities involved with parenthood.” Students are also expected to write a narrative, explaining their experience with the infant simulators.
