About Us The Whitman Hanson Education Foundation (WHEF) organized in 2004, is a non-profit, tax-exempt community organization. Residents, businesses and civic organizations of our community have come together to support the Whitman Hanson Regional School District through donations to WHEF. Whitman and Hanson have long had a tradition of valuing their schools and providing high-quality education to our children. WHEF's mission is to offer programs that enhance, enrich and maintain excellence in the Whitman Hanson Regional School District. Our Board of Directors consists of volunteers who are committed to preserving the quality of our schools. We raise funds throughout the year by seeking contributions from residents, businesses, corporate/private enterprises and local civic organizations who believe that excellent public schools are essential to the social and economic fabric and well-being of our society. WHEF addresses the challenge of maintaining excellence in the Whitman and Hanson schools in today's financial reality. The WHEF's primary endeavor is to provide grants to educators for innovative projects at all grade levels. In awarding grants, WHEF works closely with school administrators to fund projects that result in richer and deeper learning experiences and have the potential to impact a large number of students. We differ from Parent Teacher Organizations in funding programs that benefit students throughout the entire school system and in working towards building a permanent endowment fund for the benefit of the Whitman Hanson Regional School District. If you want to join the WHEF, please click here to contact us. There is no minimum time commitment required.
